In 2025, UNDP’s work on youth empowerment aligned with the National Development Programme of the Kyrgyz Republic to 2030, which identifies youth civic engagement, STEM education, and entrepreneurship support as priorities for sustainable human development.

UNDP strengthened youth leadership, institutional participation, and community resilience across five pilot municipalities through integrated capacity development, small grants, and inclusive, conflict-sensitive engagement. More than 350 young women and men enhanced their skills in civic engagement, participatory budgeting, interfaith dialogue, and the design and implementation of community initiatives—positioning youth as active partners in local development.
