April 7, 2026

Georgia’s Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) 3.0 presents an updated climate commitment under the Paris Agreement, setting a clear path toward low-emission, climate-resilient development. It raises ambition, expands action across sectors, and strengthens adaptation capacity and just transition principles.

Highlights:

  • 47% reduction in net greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 (from 1990 levels).
  • Just transition approach, with a focus on human rights, gender equality, and inclusion.
  • Increased share of renewable energy and progress toward net-zero systems.
  • Cleaner transport, including electric mobility and improved public transport.
  • Mandatory energy efficiency standards for new buildings.
  • Expanded waste management reforms.
