Circular Economy and Extended Producer Responsibility. Learning Materials. 2026

October 22, 2026

This set of educational resources comprises two complementary publications: “Circular Economy and Extended Producer Responsibility: Teacher’s Guide” and “Circular Economy and Extended Producer Responsibility: Supplementary Learning Materials.”

The Teacher’s Guide provides theoretical knowledge and practical teaching recommendations on the circular economy and the 4R principles of waste management (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Recover). It supports teachers in integrating environmental education into the learning process, promoting responsible resource use, and developing students’ environmental awareness, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. The guide also emphasises inclusive teaching approaches and equal opportunities for students to engage in green innovation and the circular economy.

The Supplementary Learning Materials complement the Teacher’s Guide through four modules covering:

  1. The core principles of the circular economy
  2. Modern waste management approaches based on the 4R principles
  3. Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR)
  4. Circular economy business models illustrated through practical examples

The materials also explore the relevance of these approaches in Georgia, their economic benefits, and their contribution to sustainable development and climate change mitigation.
