Supporting Refugees and Ukrainian Nationals

On 17 October 2023, at 12:00 pm, at the Ukrainian House in Tbilisi (8 Mikheil Javakhishviil Street, Tbilisi), CARE Caucasus, with support from the Government of Germany and UNDP, will host a launching event to award 21 grant projects to Ukrainian entrepreneurs residing in Georgia.

Ranging from US$5,000 to US$8,000, these grants assist small enterprises aiming to stimulate economic recovery, create employment opportunities, and increase income generation for Ukrainian nationals who sought refuge in Georgia amidst the devastating war.

Attending:
  • Tanja Hutt, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Germany in Georgia.
  • Anna Chernyshova, UNDP Resident Representative a.i. in Georgia.
  • Sofia Kamushadze, Program Director at CARE Caucasus.

The event will underscore the significance of international cooperation and collaboration in boosting economic recovery and income generation for refugees and Ukrainian nationals residing in Georgia, including by empowering them through employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.

The participants will have a chance to connect, network, exchange ideas, and explore collaboration opportunities. The presentation of granted projects will serve as an educational and inspirational platform highlighting the importance of community-driven solutions, international collaboration, and innovation in advancing the well-being of communities.

The grant support for refugees and Ukrainian nationals residing in Georgia is part of a wider effort „Supporting Refugees and Ukrainian Nationals: Improving the Rule of Law and Access to Justice for All“, funded by the Government of Germany and implemented by UNDP in partnership with CARE Caucasus.
