Local action
Leadership from the ground up
From gang-affected neighbourhoods in Honduras to communities hosting displaced people in Somalia, bombed villages in Lebanon, and municipalities across West Africa, the people closest to crisis are driving solutions.
Local leaders in municipalities, grassroots groups, and women’s and youth organizations know their communities best.
UNDP supports them with tools and resources, so recovery is led from the ground up. Today, 37 percent of UNDP’s spending goes directly to local actors.
