This year companies from BiH can also win the SDG Business Pioneers Award in BiH

The application call for the SDG Business Pioneers Award in Bosnia and Herzegovina is open and all private companies registered in BiH, regardless of business sector and company size, can apply until 31 March 2023.

This year, for the fifth time, the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH and UNDP in BiH will recognize and award business leaders of sustainable development in Bosnia and Herzegovina at the ceremony.

Some of the past winners of the SDG Business Pioneers Award in BiH are the Ministry of Programming, Heidelberg Cement, Klika, Mistral, Isatis, Dekonta BH, SEEBA, Stitch 22, Lanaco, Šumska Tajna and many others. In 2022, dm drogerie markt was the overall winner of the Award.

The main goal of the SDG Business Pioneers Award in BiH is to promote the best practices and ventures of private companies working to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in BiH. The award also aims to motivate companies to create new and high-quality jobs and improve their business models, while reducing their environmental footprint.

Companies that adopt sustainable strategies and practices improve their competitiveness and have better mid- and long-term economic results. The Sustainable Development Goals serve as guidelines for companies to assess and manage social, economic and environmental risks, while at the same time improving their reputation, image and strategic position in global markets.

The private sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina plays a key role in achieving Agenda 2030, while new business standards include concern for sustainability and are becoming indispensable for all companies operating in global markets.

The prize is awarded as part of the Programme "Translating the SDG Framework in Bosnia and Herzegovina into sustainable and inclusive growth" funded by Sweden and implemented by UNDP in partnership with UNICEF and UN Women under the overall United Nations's support to to the authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina to implement the SDG Framework in BiH. The Award's partner is the Chamber of Foreign Trade/Foreign Trade of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The application process is based on an e-application. You can read details about this year's award, methodology and previous winners on the website www.zamisli2030.ba. As in previous years, the award will be given for achievements in the thematic fields “People“ and "Resources and Environment".
