It was a deeply humbling moment for UNDP family as Her Royal Highness Sonam Dechan Wangchuck honored us with a Certificate of Recognition for our significant contributions towards the establishment of the Bar Council of Bhutan, and commitment to promoting the rule of law and enhancing access to justice.

Her Royal Highness presented the certificate at the opening of the Bar Council’s first Annual General Meeting in Paro on Monday, 12 April 2024. 

UNDP Deputy Resident Representative, Khurshid Alam, received the certificate from Her Royal Highness, the President of the Bar Council of Bhutan, on behalf of UNDP.

UNDP would like to offer our gratitude to Her Royal Highness for her inspiring leadership and continued commitment towards positive change, justice and equality. We remain committed towards further deepening our partnership with the justice sector under Her Royal Highness’s leadership.
