EU and UNDP support developing vocational education managers in Azerbaijan

The European Union (EU), UNDP and the State Agency on Vocational Education finalised 60-hour intensive programme aimed at preparing professional managers in the vocational education in Azerbaijan.

The “Leadership and Management in Vocational Education” programme is organised as part of the EU-funded “VET for the Future” project. The purpose of the training course is to upskill the management personnel of vocational education institutions in certain areas. The course covered the sessions on the strategic planning of VET institutions, leadership, organisation of training process and internal discipline, quality assurance system management, financial management, and working with normative legal and strategic documents.

The directors and deputy directors of vocational education providers operating in Agstafa, Baku, Ganja, Goygol, Khachmaz, Kurdamir, Gakh, Mingachevir, Naftalan, Siyazan, Shirvan cities attended the training programme. At the end of the intensive programme,
15 participants were awarded with certificates for the successful completion. These participants are expected to pass the gained knowledge and skills to their VET providers’ staff.

Via such training programmes, the project contributes to the upskilling and reskilling processes of the professional staffs in the VET system while considering market driven requirements.

The training programme is organised by the “VET for the future: development of VET providers' excellence in Azerbaijan” project, funded by the EU and implemented by UNDP. The project aims to support the modernisation of VET providers in Azerbaijan and increase the labour market relevance of vocational education.
