March 28, 2023

In 2022 the WEESC II Project continued supporting 12 more companies to sign the UN Women and UN Global Compact’s Women’s Empowerment Principles.  One of those companies who joined the global movement is “PMD Group”, one of Azerbaijan's largest real estate and property management companies, has been operating since 2013.  Since the day the company signed the WEPs it affirmed high-level support and direct top-level policies for gender equality.

Sadagat B. Hajiyeva started her career at our partner accepted Women Empowerment Principles, PMD Group as an office manager. Over time, she began to manage various construction projects, which allowed her to develop her knowledge of project management, finance, budgeting, and organizational skills.

However, it was not only her own skills and expertise that played a significant role in her career progression. The company's commitment to providing opportunities for learning and growth was also instrumental. This enabled Ms. Hajiyeva to acquire the necessary experience and apply it effectively in her work.

Today, Sadagat B. Hajiyeva is sharing her thoughts with us:

“In my opinion "not a woman's work" is outdated and no longer applicable in today's society. Women are just as capable as men in performing a wide range of jobs, and their contributions to the workforce are essential for economic growth and development. Today, women can work in any industry or profession, from construction and engineering to finance and law. Women can also excel in traditionally female-dominated fields such as nursing, teaching, and social work.

Women have a special feeling and intuition to cope with multitasking job, this spiritual power helps to look at every case differently. Yet if we compare professional approach of woman and man it is not much different. I believe that personality trait plays a more essential role rather than the gender of an individual in their contribution to work.

To get the quality product you have to work hard on it, put as much as energy as you can. That energy converts into priceless experience, that will lead you along your professional journey and will yield successful results".

The principle 4 which stands for “PROMOTE EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR WOMEN” is one the guiding principles the company use to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment in the workplace, marketplace, and community. The story of Sadagat B.Hajiyeva clearly demonstrates how “PMD Group” encourages women to enter nontraditional job fields and revenue-generating roles.
