Technical Support to Eligible Parties to Produce the Sixth National Report to the CBD

Project Summary and Objectives:

The goal of this project is to provide technical support to GEF-eligible Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) in their work to develop high quality, gender-responsive and data-driven Sixth National Reports (6NR) that improves national decision-making processes for the implementation of NBSAPs; that reports on progress towards achieving the Aichi Biodiversity Targets (ABTs); and that inform the fifth Global Biodiversity Outlook (GBO5) and the Global Biodiversity Strategy of 2021 – 2030. The results will provide a simultaneous and comparable snapshot of how countries are implementing CBD obligations, and the results of those strategies and actions.

Expected results:

The project has the following expected outcomes:

  1. Project inception meeting & identification of funding resources;
  2. Assessment of progress towards each national target;
  3. Sixth national Report production and submission
