Leaflet: Multi-hazard Early Warning System

January 12, 2026

This leaflet explains how a Multi-Hazard Early Warning System (MHEWS) works and how it helps protect communities from disasters. It outlines the system’s main objectives, the channels through which alerts are received, recommended actions for the population upon receiving an alert, and guidance on disaster preparedness. The material is intended for a wide audience and serves as an educational and reference tool to enhance community preparedness for emergencies.

The leaflet was developed within the framework of the joint UNDP, Ministry of Emergency Situations, and Uzhydromet project “Enhancing Multi-Hazard Early Warning System to Increase the Resilience of Communities in Uzbekistan to Climate Change–Induced Hazards,” with support from the Green Climate Fund.
