Dnipro, Ukraine, 6 March 2023 — The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine, with funds from the Government of Denmark, has purchased rehabilitation equipment for the in-patient medical department at the Prosthetics Plant in Dnipro, Ukraine. People with disabilities, including military personnel, can have free examinations and begin their comprehensive rehabilitation with the support of specialists.

Nils Christensen, the UN Recovery and Peacebuilding Programme Manager, emphasized that people with disabilities must have unimpeded access to medical services in all circumstances.

“I believe that thanks to this equipment, the specialists working here will be able to help more people who have suffered because of the war,” Christensen said. “We see our key task in scaling up such initiatives to national level as building an inclusive and sustainable health-care system in Ukraine that will meet the needs of Ukrainians during and after the end of the war.”

The medical centre provides psychological, physiological, and mentoring support. Consultations are conducted by orthopaedic and traumatology doctors, and professional specialists can undertake professional training. For free prosthetics, you can contact the following phone numbers: +38 (050) 450 72 13, +38 (091) 340 18 51, and +38 (068) 462 34 13.

This equipment was purchased and delivered under the auspices of the UN Recovery and Peacebuilding Programme.
