Procurement of health products for control of infectious diseases in 2026-2027

The project “Procurement of health products for control of infectious diseases in 2026-2027 for the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan” is aimed at ensuring quality health services on:

• Tuberculosis;
• HIV testing and reproductive health;
• Safe blood transfusion;
• Viral hepatitis B and C;
• Skin diseases and STDs;
• Other health programmes, if required.

The project worth 32 million USD and fully funded by the Government of Turkmenistan will ensure universal access to quality services for TB and other infectious diseases for the people of Turkmenistan.

The project activities will include:

• uninterrupted and quality supplies for TB, HIV, reproductive health, skin diseases, safe blood and viral hepatitis services.
• capacity building for health care workers of the abovementioned services, both clinicians and lab personnel.
•  gradual takeover of the Global Fund programme to ensure its full transition to the domestic funding by end-2027, including technical assistance, capacity building, social contracting with civil society organizations, and adherence support to TB patients to ensure quality, continuation and sustainability of the Global Fund programme in Turkmenistan.
