Turkmenistan has committed itself to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and it’s Goals (SDGs), and their implementation in national development plan. This project, launched in 2018, is aimed at supporting the achievement of SDGs and is a joint platform for coordinating the work of relevant ministries and agencies of Turkmenistan and UN agencies in the field of SDG implementation.

The fourth phase of the SDG Platform is a continuation of the third phase, which provided support to the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan in advancing SDG implementation and sustainable financing, as well as in enhancing national capacity on issues related to WTO accession.

The objective of the fourth phase is to promote sustainable development by strengthening the institutional capacity of the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan, as the designated authority responsible for coordinating the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals adopted by UN Member States.

The project will include the following components:

  1. Assistance in the implementation of development finance initiatives as part of the preparation of the Third Voluntary National Review of Turkmenistan on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
  2. Capacity building on SDG localization at the national level.
