UNDP Türkiye, in collaboration with the Government of Japan and the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, has released the "Synopsis: Plastic in Türkiye" report as part of the Climate Action in Hatay Project. This comprehensive report addresses the global issue of plastic pollution, focusing specifically on Türkiye. It examines the global and local context of plastic, highlights the environmental consequences of plastic pollution, explores policy approaches and key instruments, evaluates Türkiye's policy framework, and analyzes the plastic value chain and waste management practices. The report concludes with recommendations and pathways for a sustainable future, aiming to raise awareness and provide guidance for policymakers and stakeholders in their efforts to combat plastic pollution.
