Limak Investments is the First Turkish Company to Implement The UNDP Gender Equality Seal Program

The first pilot program of “UNDP Gender Equality Seal Certificate Program for Private Sector”, which is carried out globally by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), has started to be implemented in Turkey at Limak Investments.

Limak Investments, the first Turkish company to adopt the UNDP Gender Equality Seal Program, aims to develop, adopt and implement a gender-sensitive approach at the corporate level with the technical support of UNDP.

The program which is being carried out for public and private sector organisations in many countries around the world, requires an establishment of an internal administrative system where balance and equality of opportunity for women and men are constantly monitored and remedial measures are taken within companies and in business relations.

An inclusive model for corporate life

Limak Group has also realised the Engineer Girls of Turkey Project in partnership with Limak Foundation, Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Services and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in 2015, to support women to take more active role in the field of engineering and contribute to the economic and social development of our country. Within the scope of the Project which was designed with a holistic approach, implementation of the UNDP Gender Equality Seal Program along with other programs carried out for high school and university students, has been started with the aim to create an inclusive model for corporate life. 

It is aimed that the experiences acquired through the program which has been adopted for the first time by Limak Investments in Turkey, will contribute to the formalisation of the UNDP Gender Equality Seal Program within the framework of national priorities and to the implementation of the Program widely.

Trainings continue for Engineer Girls of Turkey

“Trainings of Trainers” module organized as part of the high school program of Engineer Girls of Turkey, was held on 24-27 August 2019 in Istanbul. 

Fifty teachers from various branches from 25 schools in Adana, Ankara, Aydın, Balıkesir, Bitlis, Diyarbakır, Isparta, Istanbul, Izmir and Samsun participated.
