Unlocking Caribbean Potential for Implementing & Governing AI
UNDP’s Digital Facility for the Caribbean is pleased to launch of the 2026 instalment of AI for SIDS 2.0, dubbed “From Hype to Architecture”.
Building on the conversations and momentum generated through the 2025 AI for SIDS 2.0: The Caribbean Forum, this 10 week, online short course is designed for sector leaders in government, academia, ICT, operations, and international development who want to move from general interest in AI, to practical, governed and service-oriented AI adoption. Participants meeting a specified minimum requirement will receive a certificate of completion.
The sessions are tailored for SIDS and public institutions at mixed levels of digital maturity, and and will provide immediately applicable knowledge and concepts to help organisations progress from their current state to their desired future state, while promoting safe and ethical AI-enabled service delivery.
Programme Themes
In an interactive, online environment, practical themes will be explored such as:
Theme 1: AI in Government and Public Services
- What AI can usefully do
- Workflows and service delivery
- Moving towards AI-ready pubic services
Theme 2: Responsible Adoption & Citizen Protection
- Responsible adoption
- Hallucination and incorrect-output risk
- Accountability when AI goes wrong
Theme 3: Capability, Sovereignty & Value
- Building capacity to govern AI
- Protecting data sovereignty and choosing models
- Measuring the ROI of digital & AI
Theme 4: Digital Public Infrastructure & Emerging Practice
- Digital Public Goods and Regional cooperation
- Opportunities to leverage shared infrastructure

Certification requirement: Minimum 80% participation
