Supporting Women in Law (SuWIL)

The project will address the underrepresentation of women in the justice sector in Tajikistan and contribute to making the justice sector more inclusive and accessible to women. Women comprise about 26% of law students, 20% of judges, less than 30% of practicing lawyers, and more than 65% of the legal aid clients at the state-run legal aid centers nationwide. The project will provide technical assistance to universities, justice sector institutions, and local communities to help reduce barriers to women’s entry into the legal profession.
