Improvement of Water Resources Management in Khatlon Region [Closed]

Funded by the Islamic Development Bank, the project aims to enhance the livelihoods of rural communities across nine districts in the Khatlon region by strengthening the institutional and operational capacities of local water authorities and service providers. It delivers targeted support in areas such as water tariff setting, billing and collection systems, and commercial management to foster financially self-sustaining water services. These interventions are designed not only to improve service delivery but also to build long-term climate resilience in the face of increasing water stress. By empowering local institutions and promoting sustainable water governance, the project contributes to more equitable and climate-adaptive development outcomes.
