Baidoa City Strategy
Baidoa City Strategy
October 1, 2024
The Baidoa City Strategy provides a holistic vision of sustainable urban growth for the upcoming years.
Developed based on a series of UNDP-led economic studies, including Labour Market Analyis, Livelihood Analysis and Value Chain Studies, the report provides a framework for crucial strategic scenarios and demonstration projects in line with the priorities set out at the federal, state and local levels. It serves as an entry point for other relevant actors, such as the humanitarian and development agencies, International NGO´s, local and national governments, as well as other stakeholders. This ensures that the scenarios and recommendations for Baidoa do not operate in isolation from other ongoing projects and interventions. This strategy was produced by UN Habitat.
The report was produced as part of an ongoing joint UN programme, Saameynta: Scaling-up solutions to displacement in Somalia implemented jointly by UNDP, UN Habitat and IOM.
