Annual Report 2024
Annual Report 2024
May 15, 2025
The report presents key results achieved through UNDP's programming in Somalia in 2024. It was a year of hope and optimism for Somalia, marked by significant progress on various issues amidst ongoing challenges.
From enabling over 11,000 citizens to shape Somalia’s constitutional future to resolving a dozen local conflicts, our collaborative work with the people and the government of Somalia (at both federal and state levels), with support from international development partners, has strengthened the social contract in Somali communities emerging from fragility. A new automated early warning system now safeguards half a million lives, while clean energy and nature-based solutions lifted nearly 20,000 households toward more sustainable livelihoods. With gender equality embedded across all actions, UNDP’s impact reached deep, amplifying the voices of women, youth, and traditional leaders in shaping a more inclusive, peaceful, and resilient Somalia.
As we look ahead to 2025, UNDP remains committed to working alongside the people and government of Somalia at all levels, as well as our international partners, to build a more inclusive, resilient, and prosperous Somalia. We extend our sincere gratitude to all our partners, donors, and stakeholders for their generous support, without which these achievements would not have been possible.
