UNDP and the UN

The UN Country Team in Serbia (UNCT) operates under 5-year strategic framework called UNSDCF signed with the Government of Serbia in February 2022. The current UNSDCF covers the period from 2021 to 2025 and has 3 strategic priorities:  

  1. Serbia harnesses the full potential of a green, sustainable and inclusive economy - increasing opportunities for all, and reducing risks. 

  1. Wellbeing, social equity, and the human potential are at the heart of systems, policies and practices - Everyone has equal opportunities, throughout their life, to achieve their full potential. 

  1. Building trust and mutual accountability through the rule of law, rights and duties agenda - Fostering transparency, fairness and effectiveness. 

UN agencies in the country 

UNCT in Serbia, coordinated by the UN Resident Coordinator, currently comprises 20 UN Agencies, Funds and Programs-both resident and non-resident - who work together, to advance the national development priorities in line with the EU integration, Agenda 2030 and 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

The UNCT works closely with the UN Department for Safety and Security, one specialized UN office (UN Office in Belgrade) and four International Financial Institutions (WB, IMF, IFC and EBRD).
