Media Advisory: The UN Under Secretary General and UNDP Administrator, Mr. Achim Steiner to visit Rwanda.

The United Nations Under Secretary General and UN Development Programme Administrator, Mr. Achim Steiner, is scheduled to visit Rwanda from 06th to 09th December 2023. This is his first visit to Rwanda since he was appointed as the UNDP Administrator in 2017. His visit underscores the commitment of the United Nations to support Rwanda's sustainable development goals and initiatives.

During his stay, Mr. Steiner, who is also the Vice Chair of the United Nations Development Group, will meet with the United Nations Country Team and Diplomatic Corps in Rwanda, as well as engage in a series of high-level meetings with Ministers and other senior government officials. He will also meet private sector CEOs, CSO leads and young entrepreneurs, aimed at strengthening partnerships, discussing key development agendas, and acknowledging Rwanda's remarkable progress in various sectors.

Mr. Steiner will also deliver a keynote address at the Hanga Pitchfest on 08th December 2023 in Kigali City. The festival aims to provide a unique platform to showcase tech- entrepreneurs and creative talents from all over the country, while promoting the innovation ecosystem at large

He will also visit key project sites including Art Rwanda Ubuhanzi, Norrsken and UNIPOD, to witness firsthand the impact of UNDP initiatives in the creative and entertainment industry as well as in innovation and youth entrepreneurship.
