CONFRONTING THE SOCIOECONOMIC CONSEQUENCES OF COVID-19 IN ANGOLA

With strong sanitary measures taken, the domestic spread of COVID-19 in Angola has been limited to date. However, the impact of the pandemic on the Angolan economy has been severe, with the fall in the oil price as the major transmission channel. The COVID-19 crisis has exacerbated the pre-existing economic contraction combined with limited social protection that exposes the most vulnerable people to stronger adversity.
