The Pacific Risk Resilience Programme supports the Government of Vanuatu’s efforts to achieve resilient development outcomes as outlined in the National Sustainable Development Plan 2016 – 2030 and Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction Policy, 2016-2030.

It does this in recognition that climate change and disasters can set-back years of development gains, and that ‘unchecked’ development in itself can increase people’s vulnerability.

Mainstreaming disaster and climate change risk, including gender and social dimensions, means working from within governance arrangements for development.
