Stronger Together: Delivering Health Across the Pacific
November 27, 2025
The 2024 Annual Report of the Global Fund Western Pacific grant highlights the resilience and determination of Pacific Island Countries as they navigate rising health challenges while expanding access to lifesaving HIV, TB and malaria services. The report documents how the UNDP–Global Fund partnership helped maintain essential services, strengthen community-based delivery models, and reinforce national systems.
Across the region, the report shows how countries are adapting to challenges through decentralised care, integrated outreach, expanded civil society leadership, and smarter use of digital and diagnostic tools. From community-led TB screening in the Marshall Islands to Vanuatu’s decentralised malaria model and mobile HIV services reaching key populations, 2024 demonstrated the critical role of regional collaboration in small-island contexts.
As Pacific health systems face growing uncertainty and evolving risks, the report underscores a shared vision: stronger local capacity, more equitable access to care, and sustained investment in resilient, people-centred systems that can protect hard-won gains and deliver long-term health security.
