The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Cambodia and the World Food Programme in Cambodia on 07 September signed a partnership agreement under Cambodia’s “Advancing Early Warning for All” Project (2026–2030), supported by the Green Climate Fund (GCF). The project is part of Early Warnings for All, an initiative launched by United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres in 2022 to ensure that everyone on Earth is protected from hazardous weather, water, or climate events through life-saving early warning systems by the end of 2027.

The agreement reflects the United Nations in Cambodia's commitment to delivering as One UN, leveraging complementary expertise to support national priorities and strengthen resilience for vulnerable communities.

Over five years, the project will support the Royal Government of Cambodia in strengthening an end-to-end, multi-hazard early warning system for storms, floods, droughts and lightning.

The partnership will focus on:
🔹 Strengthening disaster risk information management and data sharing through the Platform for Risk Information, Systems and Management (PRISM), supporting better planning, preparedness and decision-making.
🔹 Strengthening shock-responsive social protection, connecting early warning information with timely support for vulnerable people and communities before and during shocks.
