Bringing nature to the big screen: “Sibelina avantura” inspires a new generation

“Sibelina avantura”, a feature-length CGI animated film from Bosnia and Herzegovina, does just that. Through the adventures of a young girl, her Eco Patrol and forest animals, the film introduces children to environmental protection, friendship and the idea that even small actions can make a difference.
Developed from the Sibel Kids concept, which has been bringing stories about nature and positive values to children for nearly a decade, the film combines animation, music and environmental education in a story designed for young audiences and families.

Produced with support from the Global Environment Facility (GEF) through UNDP, the French Institute in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and other partners, the film shows how creativity can help make environmental challenges understandable and relevant to a new generation.
In August 2026, “Sibelina avantura” made its big-screen debut at the 32nd Sarajevo Film Festival, bringing its message about protecting nature to a wider audience.
With international distribution cooperation already secured, Sibel’s journey now has the potential to travel beyond Bosnia and Herzegovina — taking a locally created story and its message of environmental responsibility to children and families further afield.
