In the remote and climate-vulnerable Charmontaz Union of Patuakhali, 23-year-old Antu Rani grew up witnessing firsthand the daily struggles of a coastal community battered by storms, tidal surges, and poverty. With limited opportunities and a financially constrained background, Antu longed to contribute to her community—but lacked a platform. That changed when her mother became involved with the Local Government Initiative on Climate Change (LoGIC) project.

Inspired, Antu joined the LoGIC Youth Platform in 2023, and her journey as a changemaker began. Together with local youth, she helped establish the Climate Vulnerable LoGIC Youth Platform in Charmontaz Union, where they led awareness campaigns and climate protection activities. Antu’s leadership soon extended into green entrepreneurship through her involvement with “Sagorkonna Pure Shutki,” a women-led dry fish cooperative launched under LoGIC.

She managed finances, coordinated with local government, and promoted the enterprise as a model of sustainable, women-led business. Her dedication earned her a place at the Youth Expo 2025 during the Bangladesh Investment Summit in Dhaka—her first time visiting the capital. There, she proudly shared Sagorkonna’s story with national and international leaders, including the Honorable Chief Advisor of Bangladesh.

“I have gained this invaluable experience with the help of LoGIC Project. I am sincerely grateful for this outstanding opportunity and experience. I dream of becoming a successful entrepreneur and work with integrity,” says Antu.

Her transformation from a struggling student to a confident youth leader has made her a role model for young women in coastal regions. By uplifting women-led green enterprises, she is not only promoting climate resilience but also rewriting what leadership looks like in vulnerable communities.
