UNDP in Armenia

On May 16,  “Armenia’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC 3.0) 2025–2030” pre-validation workshop was held as part of the UNDP project “Climate Promise Armenia - From Pledge to Impact”

The workshop aimed to present the results of the assessment of Armenia’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) implementation for the period 2021–2030, and to engage stakeholders in discussing and validating the early insights of enhanced mitigation ambition and goals, as well as adaptation component of NDC 3.0, and its broader socio-economic implications.

Opening remarks were delivered by Aram Meymaryan, Deputy Minister of Environment of the Republic of Armenia; Natia Natsvlishvili, UNDP Resident Representative in Armenia; and Claudia Ortiz, Global Climate Change Strategies Specialist. All three underscored the importance of active involvement from the expert community and stakeholders in shaping NDC 3.0.

“The purpose of today’s workshop is to present the preliminary components of Armenia’s NDC 3.0 for stakeholder feedback and validation. Your feedback today is essential. It will help ensure that the updated NDC is not only technically sound but also inclusive, equitable, and nationally owned. A strong, credible NDC 3.0 will send a clear signal — to the citizens, development partners, and the global community — that Armenia remains a reliable and proactive actor in global climate efforts”, emphasized Ms. Natsvlishvili․
