It is a special experience for the students of architecture and related fields – to take their first steps as future experts of restoration and preservation of cultural heritage.
Right in the historical centre of Novobërdë/NovoBrdo, surrounded by many other archeological and cultural heritage sites, stands “Osman Efendi” mosque. It is one of the rarest mosques with a separate minaret in the region – built in 1758.
The wooden and stone structures are in dire need of restoration and this task is now the responsibility of a select group of students. Their excitement to be part of this experience was palpable.
