Project summary:

The project is a joint initiative of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs (MFA) of the Republic of Uzbekistan and UNDP. 

The proposed project will support the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan in successful implementation of its digital transformation agenda through creating an enabling environment and targeted interventions for improving the government’s capacities to conduct digital economic diplomacy. The project will contribute to addressing the most pressing issues and challenges in the area of foreign affairs revealed by the COVID-19 outbreak.

In the context of Uzbekistan, the project will serve as a Capacity Development Facility for Digital Economic Diplomacy, that will support the country – in particular the MFA, key government agencies, regional/local development units, and business enterprises – to usher in a new, modern practice to advance Uzbekistan’s economic engagement in an increasingly digitized world.
