Cross border youth is engaging in “Janyration” online creative contest

The 10-Day Creative Contest “Janyration Chakyrygy” has started for 50 finalists, during which participants will be taught on basic skiils of professions based on soft skills. The most active students will get laptops as a main prize. In order to become a part of online camp it was necessary to pass the test published on www.janyration.com, which we annouced earlier.

Selection of participants for Creative Olympiad “Janyration Chakyrygy” will be held from November 9th  till November 23rd  2020. Youth of nine villages in the southern regions (Kerben, Kök-Serek, Kashka-Suu, Kara-Suu, Tepe-Korgon, Kashgar-Kyshtak, Aydarken, Birlik, Suu-Bashy) between 14 - 30 years old are able to participate in the Olympiad. The main topic of the Olympiad is development of soft skills. The first 50 participants who get the most number of points for correct answers will participate in online camp and study basic skills of professions based of soft skills during 10 days. The most active participants will be granted with laptops. Online-camp will be held from November 30th till December 11th 2020.

The purpose of the online creative contest "Janyration Chakyrygy" is to find the optimal training model and motivation to teach the young population of the regions of Kyrgyzstan soft and hard skills that will help participants in the future to learn online, interact with customers and employers in new sectors of the economy and acquire professions that survive automation. The target audience of the project at this stage is young people aged 14 to 30 years old from pilot communities (Kerben, Kok-Serek, Kashka-Suu, Kara-Suu, Tepe-Korgon, Kashgar Kyshtak, Aydarken, Birlik, Suu-Bashy). Participation in the project is voluntary and free of charge.

The selection for the creative contest "Janyration Chakyrygy" was held online from November 9th to 23rd, 2020 through online testing published on the website www.janyration.com. The tests were completed by more than 1,200 people aged 14 to 30 years old from nine pilot villages and cities in the southern regions:

  •  Kerben, Kara-Suu and Aydarken towns;
  • pilot villages from Aiyl Aimaks: Kok-Serek, Kashka-Suu, (Zhalal-Abad obast), Tepe-Korgon and Kashgar-Kyshtak (Osh oblast), Birlik and Suu-Bashy (Batken oblast).

All participants of the online testing were allowed to participate in the 10-day online contest, which started on November 30, 2020, taking into account the high demand and many requests from school students and residents of pilot communities during and after meetings with the mentors of the Janyration Chakyrygy project Timur Mone and Ulan Usoyun. It should be noted that access to online lessons is open to everyone using the link on the website www.janyration.com

Residents of non-pilot communities are participating in the creative contest without right to get a main prize - five laptops. Every participant who passed the online test is assigned a rating in the form of points. Leading 500 participants in the rating table according to the results of the online selection round will receive 200 units each to the specified phone numbers in registration form; 100 active participants of the first week of the camp will receive branded T-shirts; the winners of the Creative Contest will receive laptops as the main prize.

In the online camp`s lessons participants are taught the basic skills of soft skills-based professions.

Soft skills to be developed among participants of Creative Camp (the most important according to data of The World Economic Forum):

Mentors and their topics:

1.     Asylbek Zhoodonbekov has rich experience in working with teenage children and young people. Worked as a coordinator of the project "Jayloodogu onuguu borborloru" ("development centers on jailoo") of "Roza Otunbaeva Initiative" International Education Fund; Executive Director of LLC “Zet Muunu” (Z Generation). He translated Masaru Ibuko's book "It's already too late after three" into Kyrgyz language. Within the framework of the project, he will reveal the topic of conflict management and methods of resolving conflicts among young people.

2.  Aibek Daiyrbekov is the Chairman of the Union of Cinematographers of Kyrgyzstan; Director of the first Kyrgyz musical "Darak yry" ("Song of the Tree"); Founder of the Karek Republican Children and Youth Film Festival. In the project he will cover the topic on Emotional Intelligence.

3.  Timur Mone - CEO of “Yurtah” Company, founder of the “Jyldyz Academy” project; As a founder of start-up companies, he has expertise in investing in startups and business management, real estate sales. Timur will reveal the topic of future professions for young citizens of the country in the project.

4.  Altyn Kapalova - artist, anthropologist and art critic, children's writer, author and performer of art projects in Kyrgyzstan and beyond; art curator of the 1st Feminnale of Contemporary Art in Bishkek. In the project, Altyn will talk about Design Thinking.

5.  Nazgul Konurbaeva is a journalist, co-founder of the “Capital KG” media company and host of the TV program with the same focused on business topics. Nazgul will highlight the basics of media literacy and fact-fake checking for the project participants.

6.  Ulan Usoyun - leader of the “Bashtan Bashta” civic movement; Founder of the “Kochmon Nomad” Foundation; a citizen of a country with an active civic position, a moderator of two peaceful meetings Reaction 1 and Reaction 2. Ulan will talk to project participants about the moderation of group work as one of the possible professions of our time.

7.  Meerim Osmonova - Founder of the OKNO.kg online publication; worked as an editor for the Tigiboo TV channel; hosts her own podcast "It's OK!", the first season of which was dedicated to women's entrepreneurship; Meerim holds meetings and live broadcasts on actual topics both in the online and in the real world. In the project she will talk about training and effective ways to find information on the Internet.

The given Initiative has been being implemented under support  of The United Nations Development Program in the framework of  “Promoting Kyrgyzstan's Youth Cohesion and Interaction towards Uzbekistan ” funded by the UN Peacebuilding Fund.
