Windhoek, Namibia, 10 August 2026 – The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Namibia will host its first-ever Open House at Droombos, Windhoek, bringing together stakeholders and members of the public to showcase how partnerships are driving sustainable development across Namibia under the theme “Building a Sustainable Future for All.”

The Open House will offer visitors a unique opportunity to explore UNDP’s development work through interactive exhibitions, multimedia storytelling, project showcases, immersive digital experiences, and networking sessions. Bringing together government institutions, development partners, civil society, academia, the private sector, students, youth, media, and local communities, the event will highlight how collaborative development efforts are improving livelihoods, strengthening resilience, advancing democratic governance, protecting biodiversity, and supporting inclusive economic growth across the country.

"The Open House reflects UNDP Namibia’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and partnership. It allows us to open our doors to the people we serve, showcase the results achieved together with our partners, and demonstrate how innovation and collaboration are helping to build a more sustainable and inclusive future for all Namibians," said the UNDP Namibia Resident Representative.

The event forms part of UNDP Namibia’s broader efforts to increase public understanding of its mandate and development results under the Country Programme Document 2025–2029, which is aligned with Namibia’s Vision 2030, the Sixth National Development Plan (NDP6), and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).Through engaging displays and discussions, visitors gained deeper insights into UNDP’s work in climate action, governance, sustainable livelihoods, digital innovation, and resilience building.

UNDP Namibia will continue working with government, development partners, civil society, the private sector and communities to advance inclusive growth, strengthen resilience and accelerate progress towards the SDGs. Achieving lasting impact will require continued collaboration, innovation and shared commitment. We therefore call on all stakeholders to stay engaged, forge new partnerships and work together to build a more sustainable, equitable and prosperous Namibia where no one is left behind.
