Ion Dulgheru from Todirești village, Ungheni district manages a company specialized in the production of nutritional bars, nut pasta with honey and honey cream with freeze-dried fruits.
"From the beginning we produced the bar by hand in the kitchen at home. We got a grant in Romania, we moved to Romania with the business, we produced these bars for three years in conditions a little more automated than in the kitchen at home, but to the extent of approximately 90% the product was made by hand," says Ion Dulgheru.
After returning with his family to the Republic of Moldova, in 2021 Ion Dulgheru benefited from assistance through the "EU4Moldova: Focal Regions" programme, financed by the European Union and implemented by UNDP and UNICEF.
Thus, Ion Dulgheru purchased several equipment: packaging line, large capacity mixer and cold rooms. These purchases worth 30,000 euros allowed him to increase the production capacity from 2000 bars per month to 2000 per day.
Moreover, Ion Dulgheru managed to make the first export to Romania and in the future intends to access other European markets.
