Over 50,000 activities for core subjects, innovative educational resources and personalized learning plans offered on a new interactive education platform

October 18, 2023

Almost 21,000 teachers from Moldova, Romania and the diaspora have created interactive exercises for the basic subjects studied in grades I-XII in Romanian and Russian languages and made them available on the www.educatieinteractiva.md platform. The extension, which is part of the "Online Education" digital library, was developed by Chișinău City Hall through the General Directorate of Education, Youth and Sports of the Chișinău Municipal Council.

At the same time, with the support provided by UNDP Moldova and the Government of Estonia, the functionalities of the www.educatieinteractiva.md portal were expanded by adding new templates for creating interactive exercises and an online lesson-planning module for teachers. Thus, interactive worksheets for physics and mathematics were created, covering the entire national curriculum.

"UNDP Moldova contributes to the modernization of the education system in the country, and expanding the functionality of the portal contributes to the transformation of the educational process into an experience of developing critical thinking in an interactive and entertaining manner. The platform will give teachers the opportunity to build personalized learning plans both for activities carried out during the academic year and for individual lessons. In this context, every student will have the opportunity to test their knowledge and learn effectively in an interactive environment," said Ana Moraru, project coordinator, UNDP Moldova.

Starting in August 2023, each teacher can create their own interactive teaching-learning-assessment activities, customized for their specific needs and goals. Projects can be exported in Word or PDF format, and the service also allows the integration of interactive links.

"When a teacher needs to carry out interactive activities for recapitulation, practice or consolidation, creative tests for formative and summative assessment or fun games to capture students' attention at the beginning or end of the lesson, then www.educatieinteractiva.md can become a reliable helper. At the same time, the portal can also be used at home, by students and parents, in order to practice and consolidate the material taught at school," said Daniela Munca-Aftenev, deputy head of the General Directorate of Education, Youth and Sport of the Chisinau Municipal Council.

This platform offers 20 types of interactive exercises for any discipline and level of education, including an engaging game called "Want to Be a Billionaire" and "Horse Race". There is also the summative test option for full assessments. They are available for free, and it is only necessary to create an account for access.

"The portal interface is easy to use, and we, as teachers, have the opportunity to create a dynamic and modern learning environment. We can enrich the lessons with interactive content so that in a short time we manage to capture the attention of the students, involve them in team games, motivate them to study and make an effort to achieve success," says Ludmila Bulhac, physics and robotics teacher at the "Liviu Deleanu" Theoretical High School Public Institution in Chișinău.

At the same time, a mobile application was created and made available on iOS and Android so that tasks can be completed on smartphones.

Also, weekly trainings and seminars are held for teachers from all over the country on the official page of the "Online Education" project in order to demonstrate how to effectively use the platform in the teaching-learning-evaluation process.
