Thirty anti-corruption volunteers took part in a summer camp dedicated to integrity from 12 to 18 July 2026. The event was organized in partnership with the National Anticorruption Center (NAC), with the support of the European Union and UNDP Moldova, as part of the project “Resilient Democracy through Anti-Corruption.”

Over the course of a week, participants demonstrated through ideas, debates, and shared experiences that integrity can be learned, practiced, and promoted collectively.

The “Decade of the Generation of Integrity” summer camp brought together anti-corruption volunteers aged 14 to 20 from Chișinău, Bălți, Rezina, Dubăsarii Vechi, Măgdăcești, Drochia, Soroca, Orhei, Leova, Criuleni, and Cojușna.

"I became an anti-corruption volunteer because I believe in the values of integrity, morality, and ethics. I also wanted to further develop my understanding of the society I live in and the society in which I will work in the future," says Dumitrița Leahu from Criuleni district.

"I want to share the information I have learned and try to raise awareness among as many people as possible about the phenomenon of corruption. Young people are the future; they are the ones who will make decisions for all of us. I am also part of that future, and I want to make sure it is a good and prosperous one," says Andrei Țurcanu from Chișinău.

Through practical exercises and interactive activities, participants discovered that every choice grounded in integrity can contribute to a fairer society.

One of the camp’s most engaging activities was the simulation “The Elections of the Republic of Integria”, an exercise that turned participants into key actors in an electoral process. Divided into teams, they took on the roles of political parties, the Central Electoral Commission, the media, and civil society organizations. They were challenged to navigate real-life inspired situations, ranging from vote-buying attempts and disinformation to ethical dilemmas and pressure on public institutions.

Creativity also found its place on specially prepared walls during a graffiti workshop, where messages about integrity, responsibility, and civic engagement came to life through color. Through drawings and symbols created collaboratively, the young participants demonstrated that values can also be promoted through art and that powerful messages can reach people beyond words.

"Through this volunteer platform, we invest in the younger generation to help shape responsible and ethical professionals who may become future prosecutors, police officers, politicians, public servants, doctors, teachers, or judges," said Grigore Lupașcu, Head of the Anti-Corruption Education Directorate at the National Anticorruption Center.

Throughout the camp, participants engaged with experts from the National Anticorruption Center, prosecutors, cybersecurity specialists, representatives of civil society, and development partners. Discussions focused on integrity, ethics, the impact of corruption on society, anti-corruption investigations, and electoral integrity. The program also included team-building exercises, thematic quizzes, study visits, and sessions aimed at developing communication and leadership skills.

Participants further strengthened their public speaking and digital content creation skills. During the “Decide with Integrity!” exercise, each participant delivered a motivational speech on civic engagement and ethical behavior. In storytelling, filming, and video-editing workshops, they produced content for social media designed to inspire other young people to promote integrity in their own communities.

The summer camp marked its 10th edition.

Through initiatives such as this, the European Union and UNDP encourage young people to take an active role as promoters of integrity.
