The first Climate and Gender Practitioners’ Community is launched in the Republic of Moldova with support from Sweden, Norway, and UNDP
May 11, 2026
UNDP Moldova, with the support of Sweden and Norway, is launching the first Climate and Gender Practitioners’ Community in the Republic of Moldova, a national platform dedicated to strengthening cooperation, facilitating knowledge exchange and building capacities in climate action and gender-responsive approaches. The initiative comes in response to the growing need to better support rural communities in addressing environmental challenges and the impacts of climate change.
The initiative is implemented in partnership with the National Rural Development Network LEADER and the National Institute of Public Administration and Management.
The community will bring together representatives of local public authorities, local action groups, civil society organizations, as well as experts and individuals engaged in rural development. It aims to encourage the participation of women in local development processes and in identifying solutions to climate-related challenges.
The platform will provide opportunities for training, experience sharing, and collaboration between local and national actors interested in climate solutions and sustainable local development. Members will be able to take part in thematic workshops, capacity-building sessions, and other practical activities aimed at strengthening community resilience.
To join the Climate and Gender Practitioners’ Community, applicants are required to complete the application form by 29 May 2026, 23:59.
The practitioners’ community is established and supported within the project “Resilient communities through women’s empowerment”, implemented by UNDP with the support of Sweden and Norway.
