40 women entrepreneurs in the agricultural sector will receive support for developing climate-resilient businesses

Cristina Capmaru, a farmer from the village of Tomai in Leova district, received support from Sweden and the UNDP to purchase a mini-till seed drill, which has enabled her to adopt conservation farming practices and develop a more sustainable and climate-resilient agricultural business.

UNDP Moldova is launching a call for applications to select 40 women entrepreneurs who will receive support to develop sustainable and climate-resilient agricultural businesses. The call is organized within the framework of the project “Resilient communities through women empowerment”, funded by Sweden and Norway.

The selected women entrepreneurs will receive goods, equipment, works, and services required for the implementation of approved investments, with a value of up to US$20,000 per business. The beneficiaries’ own contribution should cover at least 10% of the total value of the proposal.

Eligible investments include:

  • solutions for drought adaptation and reduction of agricultural losses;
  • systems for efficient water management and soil protection;
  • use of renewable energy and increased energy efficiency;
  • development of organic crops, orchard and nursery management;
  • agroforestry activities, livestock farming, beekeeping, and aquaculture;
  • post-harvest processing and other environmentally friendly agricultural activities.

The call is open to agricultural businesses established and/or managed by women that operate in the 40 beneficiary communities of the project “Resilient communities through women empowerment.”

Applications can be submitted until 17 August 2026, 18:00 (GMT+3).

Information sessions will be organized during 4-6 August 2026:

  • 4 August 2026 – Central region, Strășeni;
  • 5 August 2026 – Northern region, Drochia;
  • 5 August 2026 – Southern region, Leova;
  • 6 August 2026 – online sessions in Romanian (10:00) and Russian (12:00).
