The Sustainable Tourism Strategy for Mountains of Lebanon (STSML) considering zones 500 meters and higher is a 10 year tourism development strategy and action plan, including the vision, objectives, and key areas of intervention. It identifies the most relevant insights that have a direct effect on the traveller’s experience, the performance of the destination (in particular) and of the Lebanese tourism industry (more generally). This will allow the industry to set new strategic directions and to undertake new initiatives to respond proactively to the main findings of this report. The strategy also addresses the sustainable tourism vision foreseen for the mountain areas of Lebanon, as well as tourism development principles, objectives, strategies, and projects that need to be followed to achieve that vision.
