This monitoring report, prepared by the Lebanese Union for People with Physical Disabilities with support from UNDP, documents the participation of persons with disabilities in Lebanon’s 2025 municipal and mukhtar elections. It highlights progress achieved, including collaboration with the Ministries of Interior and Social Affairs to improve accessibility, while also revealing persistent challenges such as inaccessible polling stations, lack of assistive measures, and discriminatory practices that compromise independent and dignified voting. The report presents key findings from nationwide observation and offers concrete recommendations to ensure the full political inclusion of persons with disabilities in future electoral processes.
