A strong healthcare system is vital for ensuring accessible and efficient services for all. The Sustainable Development Goals make a bold commitment to end the epidemics of AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria and other communicable diseases by 2030. The aim is to achieve universal health coverage, and provide access to safe and affordable medicines and vaccines for all.
In 2024, the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan issued a Resolution on the Unified Medical Information System (UMIS), which integrates all healthcare information systems of the Ministry of Health. This resolution provides the legal foundation for healthcare facilities to transition to a paperless system and grants citizens access to their medical records through UMIS.
In this regard, UNDP in Kyrgyzstan collaborates with national and international partners to advance healthcare governance, digitalization, and policy reforms. By leveraging technology and innovative approaches, it strengthens the country’s health system, improves service delivery, and enhances public health outcomes.
