Jalal-Abad, 19 September 2025 — On September 19, the Regional Investment Council of the Jalal-Abad Region opened in Jalal-Abad. The Council will become an important platform for joint work between the government, business, and civil society on attracting investment, developing entrepreneurship, and strengthening public-private partnerships.

Alexandra Solovieva, UNDP Kyrgyzstan Resident Representative, emphasized: "The Regional Investment Council is a unique multi-sector platform where solutions for business development, attracting investment, and improving public well-being are jointly developed."

The establishment of the Council opens new opportunities for the development of youth and women's entrepreneurship, creative industries, responsible tourism, and the implementation of green solutions that will increase the export potential of the entire region.

Around 100 representatives from businesses, government agencies, and international organizations discussed a wide range of issues, including the long-term prospects and development opportunities of the Jalal-Abad region, including public-private partnership development paths, transformative infrastructure and its impact on development, and further improvement of the local business ecosystem, with a particular focus on youth, women, and persons with disabilities.

UNDP Kyrgyzstan supports national partners in establishing such councils across the country, supporting the creation of a sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem. This strengthens social cohesion and promotes economic growth and sustainable development in the region.

The launch of the Secretariats is being carried out with financial support from the Russian Federation as part of the implementation of the trilateral cooperation agreement concluded between the Secretariat of the Investment Council under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, UNDP Kyrgyzstan, and the PPP Centre under the National Investment Agency of the Kyrgyz Republic.
