The “Demilge” Youth Center was established by the Manas City Mayor’s Office in partnership with UNDP and with financial support from the Russian Federation. The initiative contributes to the implementation of the National Development Programme of the Kyrgyz Republic until 2030, which identifies youth development, employment, and human capital as key drivers of sustainable regional growth.
In his speech, the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Jalal-Abad Region, Tilek Tekebaev, noted that the center's activities would foster youth education, leadership development, the acquisition of entrepreneurial skills, and increased civic engagement. He also emphasized that the center would create favorable conditions for actively involving young people in the socio-economic development of their communities, as well as for supporting and implementing their initiatives.
The center is located within the “House of Enlightenment” and covers an area of 475.5 m². The center aims to create opportunities for learning, leadership development, entrepreneurship, civic engagement, and meaningful participation of young people in the social and economic development of their communities. It will also support the design and implementation of youth-led initiatives in line with the State Youth Policy.
The Mayor of Manas City, Abdypata Matkalikov, congratulated the participants on the opening of the new center, expressing his hope that it would become a hub of knowledge, new ideas, and initiatives for the youth. He added that the center should become a second home for young people — a space for innovative ideas, creative projects, and friendship.
The Manas City Mayor's Office provided the premises and allocated approximately $11,000 for equipment and furniture. The contribution of the project, funded by the Russian Federation, amounted to $122,623, which was used for interior renovation and the procurement of necessary equipment and furniture.

The center is equipped to host educational courses, digital skills and entrepreneurship training, cultural activities, youth-led initiatives, and community events. It will serve as a platform for dialogue between young people and local authorities while fostering social cohesion, civic engagement, and innovation.
“The development of youth employment, education, entrepreneurship, and participation in community life is a key priority for the sustainable regional development. The ‘Demilge’ Youth Center responds to these opportunities by creating a modern space for building human capital, developing digital and professional skills, and fostering youth entrepreneurship. Such initiatives directly contribute to the implementation of the National Development Programme of the Kyrgyz Republic until 2030,”- said Alexandra Solovieva, UNDP Resident Representative.
