The Call aims to support practical initiatives that enhance the resilience of Osh City to natural hazards and climate change, promote modern urban infrastructure, and improve the quality of life of local communities.

WHAT MAKES THIS CALL DIFFERENT?

Unlike traditional grant competitions, where applicants are expected to develop technical solutions independently, under this Call UNDP, together with the Osh City Mayor's Office, has already identified priority project sites and prepared technical documentation and preliminary cost estimates for each of them.

This approach enables organizations to focus on preparing high-quality project proposals and ensuring effective project implementation using the existing technical solutions and documentation. Upon request, applicants may receive additional technical documentation and consultations from UNDP specialists.

WHO CAN APPLY?

The Call is open to non-governmental and non-profit organizations legally registered in the Kyrgyz Republic with demonstrated experience in community development, infrastructure, environmental protection, climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction, or related fields.

WHAT TYPES OF PROJECTS WILL BE SUPPORTED?

In 2026, proposals will be accepted in the following priority areas:

• Improving water-use efficiency;
• Nature-based solutions and development of urban green infrastructure;
• Energy-efficient solutions for social and urban infrastructure facilities.

All project proposals must correspond to one of these priority areas and relate to one of the priority sites listed in Annex 1 of the Grant Guidelines.

KEY CONDITIONS OF THE CALL

• Project implementation period: up to 10 months;
• Mandatory co-financing: at least 20% of the requested grant amount (cash and/or in-kind contributions);
• Each organization may submit no more than two project proposals;
• Interested organizations must submit the complete application package by 18:00 on 1 September 2026 to: grants.env.kg@undp.org. 

Training for prospective applicants

To support organizations in preparing high-quality project proposals, UNDP will organize a training workshop for potential applicants in Osh City on 6 August 2026. Participants wishing to join online should request the participation link by emailing grants.env.kg@undp.org. 

During the workshop, participants will:

• Become familiar with the Call requirements and evaluation process;
• Receive guidance on preparing the project proposal, budget, and implementation schedule;
• Learn how to use the technical documentation and preliminary cost estimates provided when developing project proposals;
• Ask questions and receive clarifications from UNDP specialists.

Applications submitted after the deadline or with incomplete documentation will not be considered.

UNDP reserves the right to request additional information or supporting documents during the evaluation process if clarification of the submitted application is required.

All applicants will be informed of the results of the competition. However, individual feedback on each application is not guaranteed. The decision of the Grant Evaluation Committee is final.
