In the presence of the Ambassador of the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg Mr. Eric Dietz, UNDP Resident Representative for Kosovo, Mr. Nuno Queirós, the winner of the EcoKosovo 2023 Photography Competition (4th Edition) was announced. 

With the aim of showcasing the most inspirational environmental and health awareness across Kosovo, nearly 200 photographs were submitted from around 50 photography and environment enthusiasts. The images featured in this year's competition centered around the theme "Now!, so that nature is not gone", also conveyed messages which contributed to educating and inspiring action towards climate change. As these photographs were disseminated across diverse platforms and communities, we aspire that they will be playing a significant role in raising awareness regarding the pressing urgency of the situation and mobilizing communities to take meaningful action. 

Three exceptional photographs were chosen as winners, evaluated for their artistic expression, creativity, and originality. The first-place image highlights the consequences of deforestation and wildfires, the second-place entry focuses on water pollution and its associated health issues, while the third-place photograph captures the beauty of nature and wildlife.

UNDP Kosovo extends heartfelt gratitude to all participants in the photography competition for conveying a compelling message about nature care and protection. Additionally, sincere thanks go to the members of the jury for their valuable time and contributions in ensuring the qualitative selection of photos. 

In early November, UNDP Kosovo launched the 4th edition of the #ECOKOSOVO Photography Competition, under the Healthier Kosovo 2 Project. Healthier Kosovo Project is a joint initiative implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Volunteers (UNV), funded by the Government of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
