Climate Change Risk and Vulnerability Assessments of western parishes in Jamaica impacted by Hurricane Melissa

March 30, 2026

In the wake of Hurricane Melissa, and as a basis for crafting new climate-resilient recovery solutions, parishes across Jamaica can now access their own Climate Change Risk and Vulnerability Assessment (CRVA) Reports. Commissioned by the UNDP-hosted UN Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) with support of the Green Climate Fund (GCF), the CRVAs examine the potential impact of current and future climate hazards, including temperature changes, rainfall patterns, droughts, and floods, on the local community and various socio-economic sectors. The assessments were produced in cooperation with the Ministry of Local Government and local municipalities.
