Financing for Development Fact Sheet

August 6, 2025

Financing for Development (FfD) is a dedicated unit under UNDP Indonesia that mobilizes public, private, and philanthropic capital to drive progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Evolved from the Innovative Financing Lab, FfD was established in 2024 with an expanded mandate to drive innovative financing, foster cross-sector collaboration, and deliver measurable impact. At its core, FfD is about turning innovative ideas into action, unlocking financing solutions that promote environmental sustainability, social inclusion, and resilient economic growth. This factsheet outlines FfD’s strategic pillars and contributions to Indonesia’s sustainable finance ecosystem—ranging from enabling policy environments and innovative financial instruments to empowering youth, strengthening local ecosystems, pioneering green zakat, and providing impact advisory services for the private sector, all in support of mobilizing and aligning capital with the country’s development goals.
