During her visit to Rumbak village in Hemis National Park, Ladakh, UNDP India Resident Representative Angela Lusigi met community leaders and women entrepreneurs to see how conservation and livelihoods can go hand in hand in one of India’s key snow leopard landscapes. From handwoven wool handicrafts and community homestays to waste management, the video captures conversations on creating livelihood opportunities while protecting the fragile mountain ecosystem. The visit reflects the approach of PEACE+, a Government of India initiative supported by UNDP and the Global Biodiversity Framework Fund, putting communities at the heart of conservation.
