A new initiative supported by the Global Biodiversity Framework Fund is placing indigenous communities at the centre of conservation efforts in Nagaland, Tripura, and Uttarakhand. By helping communities gain recognition, governance rights, and access to sustainable financing, the CONSERVE project aims to strengthen people led conservation while advancing India's biodiversity goals and supporting those who have protected forests, wetlands, and ecosystems for generations.
